These raw Poplar frames are the most durable and sustainable framing I have found. Actually, I couldn't find anything like them in framing shops! So I partnered with a local carpenter to have them made. Now this is what I use for all my paintings and prints. The frames are extra deep, like a shadow box. The wood is a soft, smooth matte texture. It is unfinished which means there is no heavy varnish or coating that will chip.
kiln dried hardwood makes the frame resistant to dents and scratches

PRINTS - there will be a white mat visible inside the frame. PAINTINGS - the paper will float with the ripped edges exposed.
If you live in Vancouver and would prefer to choose your own custom frame, I am happy to connect you with my framer Liz and you can visit her shop.
