from 44.00

One Expeditionary Art watercolour pocket palette, filled with 14 colours of Pentel brand watercolours.

**Upgrade $12 to receive my personal selection of artist grade Daniel Smith watercolours.**

This tiny aluminum palette is the size of a business card holder. It is very lightweight! You can fill and refill the pans with whatever paint you like! The back is magnet and the pans can be switched out. You can purchase additional pans at any time. This palette is what first allowed me to discover painting on wilderness adventures. It has transformed my life and made so much possible in my creative practise.

I've included the service of filling the pans with paint because this can be tricky for first timers. Watercolour tubes are expensive and can take years to use up. A filled pan goes a long way, especially if you're painting small scale. This paint-filling-service aligns with my zero waste studio preferences. It offers you a full palette at a fraction of the price it would cost to buy a set of watercolour tubes ($18-$35 for a set of Pentel tubes, $9-$12 each tube for Daniel Smith.) Bonus: you don't have to store tubes of paint for years until your pans run out. It also means I can justify buying the big 15 ml tubes, which are more efficient and makes less waste.

Questions? Just ask. I could talk about this thing for daaaaays.

Maria Coryell Martin is an expeditionary artist based out of Port Townsend, Washington. She paints on research boats in the arctic, alongside scientists who are studying narwals and polar bears. We are kindred souls, making art on the same coast at different latitudes. Maria designed these pocket palettes and an Art Toolkit for painting in the wild, that you may love. It a zippered booklet with how to's and supplies. I love her little kit but I'm on a plastic free journey so I've made my own wilderness painting kit. I keep my palette in a little leather pencil case with a few key items. If you live in Canada, I offer Maria's brilliant invention in my shop for you as a closer to home option. No border fuss, no duties. Reliable ship times.
