From Emily: 📷 This photo was taken at Buntzen Lake in Anmore just up the hill from Port Moody. Buntzen has had a big piece of my heart ever since I moved to Vancouver. I love it for its endless hiking trails, its massive dog park and off-leash trails for dogs, and mainly for the huge lake that it is. Some of my favorite memories are grabbing a floaty and launching into the middle of the lake for a day away from the crowds just lying in the sun. Recently I decided to give up meat. It has been something I have been wanting to do for a long time because of my huge love for animals, and because the meat industry, for the most part, has a hugely negative effect on the environment. Aside from this I walk and bike to work almost daily which keeps me and my dog active and helps just a little with gas consumption and emissions. Always striving to find new ways to do more though, and fighting constantly to not give in to doing things the easy way if it means it is a bad choice for the environment.
