This painting is inspired by Bruce Kirkby - a wilderness writer and adventure photographer known for connecting wild places with contemporary issues. The photo he shared with me is his son - three year old Bodi - wandering the fields behind his family cottage in Wales. Bruce says: "it was the Canadian Arctic that first inspired my environmental consciousness but it's my children and kids around the globe that keep it going." One thing I find remarkable about Bruce is that his two young boys and his partner are sometimes/often part of his adventures - recently trekking across the Himalayas as a family.
These limited edition prints are archival quality reproductions of the tiny watercolour landscapes from This Wild Road. Professionally printed by Fidelis Art Prints on a softly textured bright white watercolour paper. Prints are 5 x 7 inches with straight edges. The painting rests in the centre of the paper, confined to a 2 x 2" square - just like the original painting. Prints are embossed with a raised circle and signed in pencil.
